Ep. 45 THIS Stopped Me From Doing Cool Stuff. -Solo Round

Personally, I love learning.

I LOVE reading, watching ted talks, and listening to podcasts. New information is such a treat. BUT, there is such a thing as learning too much.

Here’s what happened for me. I was spending so much time chasing new ideas or concepts and learning about them, I wasn’t focusing on what my “Main Thing” was.

It got in the way of me actually doing the good for me important work.

The question is this: how inspired do you have to be to get the work done? To have enough inspiration is that a 10 minute video or an hour video? Do you journal and do affirmations and do an hour mediation or do you just get to work? At what point is taking all this information in and learning stopping you from working on your own goals?

“Don’t chase the learning high.”

Tim Ferris my personal development idol talks about this in his book the Four Hour Work Week it’s called Pareto’s Principle or the 80/20 rule. Which basically says you should spend 80% of your time working on the 20% of things that get you results.

Or in simpler terms, we need to work on the small amount of things that get us the biggest results. Not trying to do everything at once.

Here is an example of Pareto’s 80/20 Principle.

The days are long, but the years are short.”

What is the number one priority that needs to get done today?
