Ep. 44 Is Chasing Your Passion Selfish? & The 2 Types of Confidence. -Rubi Z

The Podcast, Uncategorized

  1. Her Faith.
  2. Her Kindess & Hospitality
  3. Her spunky attitude

The 3 things that make Rubi, Rubi.

Rubi is a specialized wedding photographer with an editorial touch with a heartfelt emotion. She has been capturing photos for 11 years.

When Rubi had her son at 9 months old she started crying in the driveway one day. She felt like she was failing as a mother and failing as an employee. So she decided to make her own way. She sat in the driveway thinking: “Lord, there really has to be something else?”

She got her sign from a random lady on the radio. The lady was talking about how she loved to bake. And she baked for all her friends and now, she is Auntie Anne.

Do I have something like to do?

Is there something I can pick up?

And possibly make something out of it?

I had no gear. I would never consider myself a photographer at that time. A week and a half later she had her first wedding client and the father of the bride bought Rubi a camera. After that moment Rubi never looked back.

And year after year she invested in her skills and gear improving over the years. It became a special tradition of Rubi’s to stay up on New Years and have a conversation with God about what her Next Steps were for the  upcoming year.

I don’t think anyone has the right to tell someone that they can’t do something. I’m going to tell them that they can. But it’s up them to make that happen.

I loved the idea that rubi mentioned about sitting someone where and forcing yourself to have no agenda. There are so many things to keep us busy that sometimes we forget to sit still.

In this episode we also walk through the lie of I’m not smart enough. If you have ever felt this about yourself whether in business or in life that you are not smart enough to do XYZ this episode is for you.

“Creativity is intelligence having fun.”

We are in a microwave generation, we want everything now.

Rubi explains why the process to becoming the person we want to be is so important. And why we should NEVER skip on the process.

Can’t wait to share another episode next week.

Ep. 42 The Two Questions To Ask Your Fears. -Solo Round

The Podcast, Uncategorized

Have you ever been afraid to do something? Every stay up late at night thinking about all the “What if’s” and other terrible things that could go wrong?

Yeah me too. I think that’s pretty normal as a human but today we’re sharing how to overcome the scaries.

I’ve done a couple things in my life that I was afraid to do and in this episode I share two experiences I’ve had:

#1 Hosting a Workshop

#2 Completing a Spartan Race.

Both of which petrified me at first.

In this episode I talk about:

  • Situations where I was afraid but did it anyway.
  • The 2 questions I asked myself to overcome the fear.
  • Ideas on how you can move past your biggest fears.

Eleanor Roosevelt Once said:

“You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, ‘I lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.”
